Evidently intended to settle in Victoria after the last voyage but died soon afterwards
Honorably mentioned for service on "HMS Castor", Auckland NZ 1846
His obituary in the Melbourne Morning herald states that "he faithfully served in Her Majesty's Navy in China, New Zealand and other countries for a period of twenty-one years, and was lately appointed quarantine medical officer at this port."
